Construction Manager - New Industrial Facility
Schunk Xycarb Technology is extending the US production capacity by building a new facility in the Northwest Austin / Georgetown, Texas area.
To lead this challenging project we are looking for a:
Construction Manager - New Industrial Facility
What are you going to do?
Role description:

As Construction Manager you will lead the project to establish this new industrial facility.
 
With your internal and external project team members you will conduct the “green field” / “brown field” study to recommend the best land options for the facility requirements.  You will understand and guide actions related to the legal & governmental requirements, building design and execution, infrastructure, installations and equipment, recruit local staff as needed, and hand over the project towards the new operations team once this team is established and all equipment has been installed.  This new facility will include several state-of-the-art production capabilities and will consist of at least 150,000 square feet of space for production, logistics and administration.  The scope of the project will likely extend beyond the opening of the facility, to complete the necessary final milestones and actions. 
 
You report directly into the Managing Director for SXT-US.
 
The project officially kicks off in July 2019 and is estimated to be finalized in late 2021 or early 2022.  The potential for employment beyond the project scope will be discussed and mutually agreed when appropriate.
What will you bring?
In order to excel within this position, it is important that you have:
  • Construction Management related degree, construction-related Engineering degree or equivalent work experience with industrial facility construction & development;
  • Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation preferred;  Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is also a plus;
  • 15+ years of industrial facility construction experience, leading complex international project plans for multiple simultaneous projects or for a single highly complex project including scope, budget and schedule.  Tasks are defined in the project plan to achieve project goals using standard project management methodologies and practices;
  • Sound experience on designing, setting up and building an operational facility, preferably within the semiconductor industry;
  • Proven track record of management and leadership ability, strong communication skills and judgement;
  • Experienced in international project management and used to working with different cultures;
  • Builds trust and influences without authority, cross-functionally and across diverse teams;
  • Ability to successfully represent the company interests with general contractors, architects, local government officials and others as needed during the project;
  • Executive communications skills to deliver effective updates and decision-making;
  • Builds partnerships to collaborate and uses influence to gather business requirements and communicate effectively with all stakeholders;
  • Ability to understand logistics involved with moving resources around in the most cost-effective and efficient manner;
  • Willing to live close to our facility in the Austin/Georgetown, Texas area.
