To enhance the efficiency and productivity of Schunk Xycarb Technology, we are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing improvements across the entire Operation process, and beyond. You’ll play a pivotal role in elevating our organization’s performance by reducing costs, enhancing quality, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.

What are your main responsibilities?

Continuous Improvement Engineer requires expertise in the domain, collaborative problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate change. Key responsibilities include analyzing and promoting the benefits of process improvements, fostering collaboration, and aligning stakeholders toward common goals. Creativity, patience, communication and motivational skills are essential for success. Other tasks you have in this role are:
  • Continuously challenge the processes, ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency by identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring their implementation with the relevant teams
  • Be the local owner of our operational process, which includes operational systems, process design and improvements;
  • Launching new processes;
  • Taking leadership and be able to influence and motivate others from the shop floor to Management Team;
  • Involvement to the improvement projects that has wider scope in company level. Sometimes even in Global Operations level.  

What are your skills?

For this position, it is important that you are good at working together. With your strong soft skills, you ensure that you get the various stakeholders within the organization on board with your ideas. Other skills that are important for this position include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient with a range of production, operation and quality improvement tools and methodologies (e.g., QRM, Kaizen, SMED, DMAIC, PDCA, VSM, FMEA, Fish bone and other problems solving tools).
  • Strong project and change management abilities.
  • Experience with World Class Manufacturing, Shingo, and Toyota Production Systems is preferred, along with Lean Six Sigma proficiency.
  • A good command of the English language (written and spoken) (Dutch is not mandatory but appreciated)
