Within Asia we are present in 5 countries. Out of our new to build factory, we serve our customers on the Graphite products for the advanced semiconductor and Opto electronic industry in the Asian market with a dedicated team growing within 3 years to ~ 35 employees.
What are you going to do?
As Equipment Engineer you lead projects & activities to ensure a successful start of operations in the new to build facility. You translate goals and action plans into production practice where you integrate manufacturing processes and equipment. You work closely with colleague engineers (mechanics, physicists and chemists) and project managers in various project teams where you contribute your knowledge of mechanics, hardware and (control) software and equipment realisation. You are the driving force in the design, manufacturing and commissioning of new process and measuring machines or tools for graphite coating.
Based on your content-related background, you are aware of the latest methods and techniques in the field and have a keen eye for improvements and (process) optimalisations whereof automation. Your are energized by introducing Operational Excellence and Technological Leadership methods while standardize industrialization quality levels in a project-based manner.
You have some understanding of Information / Operational Technology (IT/OT). For example, you can act as key user of systems such as MES, SCADA and other OT hardware / software towards suppliers. In this part of the position (estimated around 4 hours/week) you can specify and verify changes and fixes for IT/OT systems.
  • Being part of an international organisation, where projects run globally, you are open to travel and short time assignments abroad.
  • You report directly to the Operations Manager in Suzhou and functional to the Global Equipment & Process engineering manager, based in the Netherlands.
  • Your onboarding and (extensive) training will be in The Netherlands. After this you will be located on our Suzhou factory in China.
For an Equipment Engineer it is important that you want to reach goals and achieve tangible results. You are the specialist in the field of process innovation and improvements. You offer support to Operations, affinity with Thermo Chemistry is therefore useful in this function.To be considered for this position, it is important that you:
  • Bachelor or Master in a technical field, obtained through training or experience in (mechanical) engineering and mechatronics
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role with sound project management experience and ability to lead and collaborate with colleagues
  • A proactive and results-driven attitude and you show ownership
  • As our customers are worldwide located, we aim to set up a diverse team. Preferably you have a non-Chinese background, coming from an other country in Asia, Europe of US
  • Good communication skills in Mandarin and English.
