As a future- and growth-oriented company, we are looking for you to fill the following position

Equipment Safety Engineer

Join Schunk Xycarb Technology B.V. in Helmond, one of the leading global suppliers providing a complete range of advanced consumable products and related technology services for the Semiconductor-, LED- and Solar Industries. The organization offers integrated packages for Quartz, Graphite and Advanced Technical Ceramic products.
Within our Equipment & Process Engineering team we provide the right processes and equipment to make the production run smoothly. As a team our main tasks within the company are:
- Providing safe process and measurement equipment and installations. This for our mechanical machining department (MBA), and the (thermochemical) coating department (TCA).
- Monitoring and improving this equipment
- Supporting complex process problems, introducing new technology and continuously improving existing technology in order to increase efficiency and improve the reliability (in the broadest sense of the word) of production processes.
Our department consists of process and equipment engineers, who provide operational support and project-based improvement. Because we are working in a matrix organisation, we collaborate a lot with other departments.
Due to growth of the organisation and production capacity, expansion of, but certainly also specialisation within the department is necessary: Identifying risks relating to the safety of machinery and related installations, making and implementing plans to reduce these risks to acceptable levels, thus improving the safety and reliability of machinery and installations. For this purpose we are looking for an Equipment Safety Engineer.
What are you going to do?
In your role you will stimulate continuous improvement (Operational Excellence) and initiate projects and programs to realize these improvements, so that our colleagues get an even safer workplace and they can make optimal use of time and resources to achieve results. You are the linking pin between Production, Equipment & Process Engineering, Maintenance and ESH.
In addition,
- Are you a 'mirror' for the organization with regard to the safety and reliability of machines and related installations.
- You work proactively to improve the safety and reliability of machines and installations, also within the framework of laws and regulations, in the field of safety and the environment. You carry out improvement processes within scope, budget and time.
- You lead or participate in FMEA, HAZOP or similar studies to determine risks and mitigating measures.
- You are actively involved in performance indicators such as # incidents and risk reduction.
- Take charge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of unsafe and/or unplanned operational incidents.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance regarding safety and operational processes, such as Work Orders, TRA, LOTOTO and Management of Change.
- Support you with machine and installation malfunctions by analyzing complex malfunctions, providing support in solving the problem and securing the solution.
What we ask from you:
- Bachelor level in working and thinking
- Additional study/experience in safety and reliability (e.g. ATEX, HAZOP, CE)
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork

And of course you 'live' the core competencies of Xycarb: Innovation, Collaboration and Customer & Service orientation.
