Within the IT & Digitalization team in Helmond, the IT Business Partner will focus on supporting the daily operations of the local IT/OT (Information & Operations Technology) infrastructure. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders at Schunk Xycarb Technology in the Netherlands and with the Corporate IT department at Schunk Group in Germany.

What are your main responsibilities?

The IT Business Partner will respond, prioritize, escalate or resolve in person second-line IT / OT incidents via our global Service Desk (first line). You are in charge for the Information & Operations Technology (IT / OT) of our facility in Helmond. For example, you’ll represent IT in projects impacting machines in the factory or in initiatives related to the deployment / upgrade of IT systems at the other office departments in Helmond. Occasionally, you are might be required to share your knowledge to support the other worldwide sites of the business unit. The scope of this key vacancy is quite broad and it includes aspects such as:
  • Be the local contact point for daily OT/IT issues experienced by users in Helmond and logged as tickets via our global IT Service Desk
  • Provide solutions to known incidents and problems for our internal customer base
  • Prioritize, diagnose and execute resolution of IT/OT problems as they occur
  • Maintain local hardware, such as laptops, mobile phones, printers, local software, file sharing, etc
  • Leverage the IT / OT experienced gain in troubleshooting / projects in Helmond towards other worldwide offices of the same business unit (Schunk Xycarb Technology)
  • Formalize and improve OT/IT procedures to enhance awareness, escalation points and correct use of both hardware and software. Formalize root cause and solution after problem has been solved
  • Support upgrades of local OT/IT infrastructure (switches, firewall, printers, file servers, meeting rooms, laptops) at the facility in Helmond.
  • Ensure good knowledge of all OT/IT systems, including specifications, keep track on IT/OT equipment in use and eligibility criteria
  • Support the setup and execution of OT/IT projects (e.g., installation of a new machine, roll-out of a new application, upgrade of an existing system, etc)
  • Safeguard that all IT/OT solutions are mirrored against company standards and with a high level of security in place.
  • Work effectively with Corporate IT organization in Germany, with local business stakeholders and with required external suppliers to deliver workable solution of our IT/OT service proposition
  • Supporting projects initialized by Corporate IT

What are your skills?

For this function it is important that you have experience in working in a company where both office and manufacturing related departments are located in the same site with responsibilities to maintain, troubleshoot and improve the required IT/OT backbone. Other requirements you need to have for this position are:
  • At least an education related to IT fields or Bachelor degree in IT;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with OT infrastructure (SCADA application, local servers, VLAN, local network, etc)
  • Experience in running OT/IT improvement projects touching multiple stakeholders. Just as example: SharePoint, payroll system, cloud engineering application, quality control systems, telephony systems, upgrade server and storage landscape, make IT/OT components of automation line work, etc
  • Good knowledge of the standard OT/IT tools;
  • A pro-active mind-set, you solve issues before they even get escalated
  • Good communication skills at all levels, from shopfloor to C-level
  • High flexibility to work on vendors and the capability to learn fast new IT/OT applications.
  • Hands-on and problem-solving mindset is key. We have a broad set of vendors.
  • Good business understanding, complemented by strong problem solving skills
  • Good command of the Dutch & English language (written and spoken).
