At Schunk Xycarb Technology (SXT), we are looking for an Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) Officer who can translate policy into action—ensuring our operations are safe, compliant, and continuously improving.

As ESH Officer, you’ll advise and support the organization on all matters related to health, safety, and the environment. You’ll work closely with the QESH Director, Global ESH Manager, and local Operations teams to identify risks, investigate incidents, coordinate audits, and maintain compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
 
Your main tasks include:
  • Translating ESH policy into practical guidelines and processes across departments
  • Supporting audits, inspections, risk assessments (RI&E), and statutory measurements
  • Investigating (near) accidents and incidents, and driving root cause analysis
  • Acting as the main contact for local authorities and external ESH stakeholders
  • Organizing and advising on training, internal communication, and improvement plans
  • Supporting business contingency planning and environmental permit processes
  • Maintaining and reporting on health and safety performance indicators
  • Contributing to yearly ESH plans and reports
This is a hands-on and advisory role where your analytical skills, sense of responsibility, and ability to connect with people across all levels will make a real difference.
 

What are your skills?

You’re proactive, thorough, and confident in advising management and operations on ESH matters. You bring strong communication skills and know how to balance compliance with practical solutions in a high-tech environment.
 
You bring:
  • A relevant degree (e.g. Higher Safety Studies or equivalent)
  • Sound knowledge of Dutch health & safety and environmental legislation
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and preferably ISO 50001
  • Strong skills in audits, investigations, and reporting
  • Excellent command of English as well as Dutch
  • Experience in delivering trainings and engaging with both shopfloor and leadership
  • A structured and analytical mindset with a hands-on approach
